We are working with a cutting-edge scientific consultancy in Knutsford who use their unique methodology and technology to help clients make the right decisions in pharmaceutical development. Their processes ensure all routes are evaluated in a robust way using input and discussions generated during live moderated online scientific meetings, with upper level executives, and other key opinion leaders from around the world.
The role will be to work closely with their clients, often large global pharmaceutical companies across Europe and the USA, constructing the meeting in terms of structure and interactive content, to ensure that all objectives are thoroughly addressed, typically all from the head office in Knutsford.
What you’ll do
You will be responsible for establishing and understanding the objectives, creating and refining the agenda and materials, and then leading the live online discussion. This will involve close client contact in creating the structure of the programme, agreeing the outline of the interactive technology to be used in the live analysis that will support the decision making, and conducting dress rehearsals with the client.
It is essential to have a life-science background so that the successful candidate can thoroughly understand the scientific rationale behind the clients’ decisions and the terminology used. An overall inquisitiveness, interest in the development of new drugs and ability to grasp the topics that clients need to explore will also be crucial. Whilst the detail is important, being also able to quickly take a helicopter-view is required to ensure that the high level objectives of clients are translated into an insightful virtual interactive meeting.
This role will be one for a confident and outgoing person who is happy to be interacting with groups of very senior people and directing a meeting. You will be asking for input from people for example, setting time limits on discussions and managing this room, assembled at considerable expense to ensure that high value outcomes emerge.
You can have any number of previous career branches to be successful in this consultancy role. You may be at a PhD level in a life-science discipline though this isn’t critical. We expect our candidate may have acquired the key competencies from previous roles in perhaps scientific sales, training, medical science liaison, or worked in a client facing role in a contract research organisation. Perhaps a background in running training will be the best direct comparison however given this is a unique role we look forward to reviewing the CV’s that come in and do feel that the personality of the candidate will be a key driver of suitability for the role.
We need someone really interested in science, you will need to be confident, outgoing and dynamic and comfortable leading discussions. You will need to have very good communication skills and able to write scientific reports and drawing conclusions from meetings.
On this occasion, LiCa Scientific is acting as an employment agency.
