Job Description

We are recruiting for analytical chemists on a permanent and also contract basis for a GMP Pharmaceutical Services company, an established business which has been providing first class API services since 1969. 

What you'll do:

As an analytical chemist you will principally be working on HPLC and ICPMS analysis of pharmaceuticals. This role will also support the analytical chemistry method development programme, calibrate and maintain analytical chemistry equipment, support cGMP stability programmes and characterise reference materials. Main duties are listed below: 

Operational:

• To perform analysis and report results in accordance with cGMP requirements for laboratory operations.
• To investigate analytical deviations and out of specification results with appropriate rigour and to contribute to their root cause resolution.
• To organise calibration and maintenance of analytical equipment.
• As required, to perform routine auditing of laboratory areas.
• As a SAP user the job holder will be required to carry out assigned SAP transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
• To perform technical transfers between internal and external customers.
• To support method validation programs. 
• To support cGMP stability programs.
• To characterise reference materials for use in cGMP analysis.
• Develop, evaluate and prepare analytical methods and SOPs as required.
• Ensure cGMP/GLP compliance

HSE:

• Comply with all HSE requirements including safety policies and procedures, with particular reference to compliance within the analytical laboratories.
• Conduct HSE audits and housekeeping audits.
• Ensure safe laboratory operation.

Internal contacts and relationships: 

• To liaise with manufacturing, technical and operational quality personnel on relevant aspects of compliance and analytical atypicality. 
• Close contact with process managers, development chemists, Manufacturing, Pilot Plant and Quality.
• Frequent contact with customers.

Your background: 

You will have a degree in chemistry or related and a strong technical background in HPLC and ICPMS. We are seeking a candidate with a strong GMP understanding ideally who has worked in a cGMP environment. You will have good IT skills and strong attention to detail.
