This candidate is a highly skilled, PhD-qualified Senior Chemist with over twenty years of experience in custom synthetic chemistry and chemical manufacturing. They are experts in building and making molecules from scratch, with deep knowledge of synthetic route development and problem-solving. Throughout their career, they have designed and worked out new reaction steps for a wide range of products, including painkillers and antibiotics. They have led projects on their own and in teams, making batches ranging from small amounts up to large-scale runs in 50-litre kilo labs and clean GMP work areas. Beyond building molecules, they have strong skills in formulation and mixing chemical products to meet tough guidelines. They have designed and carried out the synthesis of new, target flame-resistant additives that passed strict safety burn tests. They have also changed the formulation recipes for major chemical products to keep them in line with changing trade laws and customer needs. They are quick to pick up new testing tools, and they know how to step away from the bench to review data, write technical sheets, and talk directly with clients. On top of their lab work, the candidate brings strong skills in running a workspace and keeping people safe. This candidate has worked via LiCa Scientific on a temporary assignment that we’ve arranged and we’ve received great feedback since joining in Summer last year. This assignment is coming to an end on the 22nd of May so she is effectively immediately available.     Her recent position at has been in analytical testing of a range of chemistries, the company utilises GC, HPLC, FTIR, UV/Vis, and wider techniques in the analysis of any one of thousands of products that the site manufactures. Prior to this she has a 1st class Biochemistry degree and a wonderful academic record preceding this. She is flexible on the role she next takes on in science and keen to remain in the Lancaster area.   She has had training and development within this role which has enhanced her skill set as a scientist and had her contract extended beyond it’s original length, and we’ve received very positive feedback every time we’ve discussed her performances.
