We are hiring for a synthesis chemist to work in research and development for a highly innovative company in Cheshire. This is a hands-on bench based research role, calling for a strong understanding of reaction chemistry in the commercial setting. You will be working on technology that has applications globally and will be making a significant difference.
What you’ll do
This role will mainly involve 2-4 step reactions to produce innovative libraries of candidate molecules to be then used in a novel application, producing chemistry that is scalable, and routinely purifiable. Experience of colour change chemistry, diacetylene, or leuco dyes chemistry is going to be of interest for this role, but by no means see this as being essential. You will be working in synthesis of the scale of up to 50g, which will then lead into colleagues in formulation and process chemistry whom you’ll be collaborating closely with.
You will be a graduate in chemistry, ideally PhD level though a mix of academic/industrial achievement would be considered. The role will be based at the bench carrying on synthesis chemistry so please detail your experience in this area on your CV/cover letter which will be reviewed by individuals at a similar qualification level. You will be a highly motivated individual, and a good communicator, this company is a small business working globally so given team sizes there can be the need to take on additional duties (wear the different hats occasionally) and collaborate. Our clients location means a driving licence/own transport is advantageous but not essential.
This is a permanent role paying a highly competitive salary with, again, a very competitive package alongside, full details of which we’ll be happy to reveal on application.
Please email email@example.com should you have informal questions ahead of application please call 0161 443 4173. On this occasion, LiCa Scientific is acting as an employment agency.
