Senior Key Account Alliance Manager

We are pleased to be recruiting for an Account Manager to work for our client in California.
They are involved in the development of blood tests to help cancer patients get the right drug. They have a non invasive tool for sequencing DNA to acquire key data to use in treating the patient.
What you’ll do
You will be helping the company become a centre for excellence for their mission, acting as a primary point of contact. They are working closely with companies involved in drug development and this role will be a key alliance contact for them.
As their Alliance Manager, this will manage governance and you will be chairing the Joint Steering Committee. You will drive business partnership, program activities and create the bridge between this company, and their clients.
On a day to day basis you will be involved in speaking to companies engaging with the client, initiating, organising and driving activities to expand the volume of collaboration. This can be establishing new product agreements, to develop, register, manufacture and commercialise companion diagnostics and clinical trial services and working in parallel with their client’s medicine development programmes.
You will be providing information on enquiries about, for example, Next Generation Sequencing, Companion Diagnostics, regulatory affairs, and bringing an understanding of the pharmaceutical drug development process, an ability to expedite projects, provide clarity internally and externally on what is needed when, by whom.
You will be a good people and matrix manager, able to clearly articulate what is needed of colleagues and clients, and also able to take on complex instructions efficiently.
This role will be based in California, with regular travel to the East Coast USA and Europe up to 50% of the time.
You will be experienced in alliance management and business development professional. We are seeking someone with diagnostic experience, strong content knowledge of next generation sequencing (NGS), and experience of working with pharmaceutical companies. You will be someone who can set time scales and resource information well for colleagues and have experience of forming up statements of work and always keeping a close watch on expediting this. You will have a strong knowledge of regulatory affairs pertaining to pharmaceuticals and medical diagnostics, as well as a range of functional areas like IP, Legal, Finance, R&D, Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales and Marketing and Project Management.
A deep understanding of biopharmaceuticals, oncology, diagnostics, genomics and clinical trials will be key to your qualification for this role.
We are seeking someone who can understand effectively the client motivations, and anticipate problems (before solving them, intercept issues early and prioritise solving them.
