Research and Development Project Chemist
6 Month contact role
We are working with a client in North Manchester who are seeking a Chemist to conduct research and development programmes. They work in chemical research in custom dye synthesis, analysis, and driving applications across a range of technologies in electronics, security, product traceability, dyes and working to high levels of purification.
What you’ll do:
You will be working in the synthesising of chemical entities for clients, developing safe and robust R&D synthesis processes that can then be scaled to pilot scale or manufacture.
You will work with an understanding of implications of processes on larger scales with respect to equipment and safety considerations. This will involve using all available scientific databases and literature and developing experimental methods for achieving the project goals. You will be responsible for reporting details of analytical evaluation and synthesis processes.
This will be work on behalf of clients, and there will be regular reporting required of project progress.
The role will take on a variety of chemistry and project types so this variety will mean it’s necessary to maintain a strong knowledge of quality processes, SOP’s, risk assessments and equipment in planning synthesis work you will be doing. The role will also produce a lot of project data which again will be labelled/ stored in compliance with site procedures.
We are seeking a BSc+ qualification level in Chemistry ideally with knowledge of industrial chemistry and the above synthesis skill set to succeed in this role. Good communication, organisational and team work skills are a must. We are seeking someone who broadly can operate well in an R&D Chemistry laboratory either via time served in a similar capacity in synthesis or via higher level education. Applications from a range of backgrounds are encouraged.
On this occasion, LiCa Scientific is acting as an employment agency.
