R&D Assistant Scientist – Medical Devices

We have a vacancy for an Assistant Scientist to join a Research and Development department at our client, a global medical devices company in Yorkshire. You will be joining a team engaged with in-house product development, or products acquired via merger, acquisition or bought-in finished goods, and supporting the generation of evidence for existing products. These are products predominantly in the fields of woundcare.   

What you’ll do:

You will be working across as part of a multi-disciplinary group with the potential for in vitro work in materials testing, bench-top wound models, microbiology, cell culture, instron testing, assay development and physical analysis. You will be working with a collaborative team supporting others in the group with their research activities.

Your background:

You will be a graduate in a relevant field to the above, we’re keen to keep the specific degree area open. Demonstrable creativity, teamwork, drive and communication skills will form a key part of our consideration for this role. We are also keen to identify someone who is flexible and adaptable to changing workload, who will be happy to take on duties out of their immediate skill area. Any evidence of working outside of your comfort zone / new challenges will be advantageous to your application. A high level of attention to detail and strong numeracy/IT skills are essential. Experience and knowledge in the fields of medical devices, materials science, cell culture or microbiology are desired but not necessary.
