Job Description

We are hiring for a Quality Assurance (QA) Chemist to work in the fine chemicals industry. Our client is a successful multinational chemistry manufacturing company, who require someone to help uphold quality assurance standards. This is a permanent role in Manchester.

What you’ll do

You will be responsible for implementing quality assurance standards i.e. BS22716 (Cosmetics Good Manufacturing Practice / GMP), and evaluating their adequacy and interpretation. This will involve supporting the site continuous improvement program, devising sampling procedures and analysing data for the improvement of the quality system.

The role will further prepare reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities, reviewing the implementation of efficiency and quality inspection systems. You will be coordinating on site audits, conducted by external providers. In collaboration, you will evaluate audit findings, implementing corrective actions.

This role will also cover the internal audit programme and associated QA activities.

Wider duties of this role will be to administer CAPA, change control, batch manufacturing record review, investigations, non-conformances and some elements of risk management. There will be an element of training colleagues in QA standards and the quality management system.

Your background

You will be a graduate (or equivalent) in a scientific field, have quality assurance experience ideally in the chemistry or pharmaceutical market, with quality inspection/auditing/CAPA experience.

You will have a good knowledge of the tools, concepts and methodologies of QA and a knowledge of regulatory requirements. Finally, we are seeking someone knowledgeable in QA via relevant regulatory requirements and continual personal development in this field.
