QA Officer – ISO 14001
We are recruiting for a multinational fine chemical company in Manchester. They are based near to the town centre and have several further sites around Europe and the World. They are implementing ISO 14001 and seeking an experience QA (Quality Assurance) Officer to help manage this.
What you’ll do:
You will be the main focal point on the integration of ISO 14001 within the organisation, this will involve coordinating and monitoring of analysis for air quality, groundwater and waste disposal, you will be reporting data regularly to the Environment Agency.
Further key areas will be compiling and executing site protection and emergency plan, as well as applying for REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of chemicals) registrations for transported intermediaries and customer products where required.
You will submit the annual pollution inventory report to the environment agency, review waste disposal data and collect and compile statistical data identifying key areas for improvement. You will also keep check on the environmental compliance systems for their implementation.
You will be qualified via experience in the above, perhaps a graduate in the sciences though this isn’t essential. The core requirement is that you have experience of working in the ISO 14001 field. Further we would wish to see experience of emissions monitoring, site protection monitoring programmes, IED (Industrial Emissions Directive) guidelines, REACH experience.
Personality wise, this is a role implementing a new system in an established business, communication, teamwork and project management will be essential.
As this is a Quality Assurance role, involving review and writing of important documentation, we do place a higher bar on CV writing and application quality.
