We are hiring for an entry level Production Chemist role with a view to training and developing into a more senior future role. This role will be working initially on days moving onto weekday/weeknight shifts in due course. It is suitable for anyone with some initial experience but strong ambitions in the fine chemical or pharmaceutical industry, and a drive to move their career ahead taking on responsibilities in an very successful - and also rapidly growing business.
What you’ll do
The Production Chemist will be responsible for the operational aspects of fine chemicals production moving into the plant having been researched by colleagues in the business. Ultimately your goal will be to take synthetic chemical processes to large scale (chemical reactor) and produce what is required to the expected quality. You will be writing and updating batch sheets and standard operating procedures, briefing production Operators and Technicians on their roles in the process, and being hands-on with the synthesis activities yourself. This is a semi automated plant and this role will involve working in a cross functional way with synthesis, analytical, quality, regulatory and safety colleagues.
We are seeking someone qualified to degree level in chemistry, and who has worked in a fine chemicals environment prior. This role will provide training in key areas however it’s critical any applicant has experienced chemical synthesis in industry. This may be at a bench based / smaller scale. This is a role that comes with a lot of training and progression and is a hands-on physical role in some aspects.
