Permanent role



We are seeking a candidate with a background in metallurgy and/or mineral processing for a client in the North West of the UK. This is role is suitable for graduates, who have gained some experience of mineral ore processing / geochemistry / metallurgy.


What you’ll do:


You will be working toward the evaluation of chemical products used in extractive metallurgy with a view to identifying opportunities to improve performance and mitigate issues. This will involve working closely with our client’s customers who are mines extracting mineral ores, using processes that consume a lot of fine chemicals for example.


You will work on site, and using lab equipment and independent test laboratories to provide information that supports sales of the right chemicals to these customers. You will work directly with businesses, who can be mines, distributors or laboratories to help solve issues. This will develop a good, detailed knowledge of customers production proficiencies and technologies which you can use to further support them.


You will be working directly with customers to solve problems and develop their laboratory test programme and trials. This will call for a direct working relationship with clients and regular visits to their sites. This will have the impact of supporting selection of our clients products.


The role holder will be a very visible representative of our client, spending a lot of time overseas and also be identifying new business opportunities for our client.


Your background:


You will have a University degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or another field of study that has built a strong understanding of mineral processing.


We are seeking a candidate who has experience of working in this field either from a year in industry or longer tenure, and have a flexibility in the level that we recruit at. We are seeking a strong technical understanding of metallurgy and extraction such as milling, leaching and floatation.


You must be very well organised, with a willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas.
