We are working with a company specialising in the development and manufacture of fine chemicals who are seeking a Logistics Coordinator on a Permanent basis.
What you’ll do:
You will be responsible for the organised, legal and safe logistics of chemistries leaving the company. This will involve working closely with the Warehouse, Chemists involved in Production and other teams as needed (Regulatory, Quality etc). Chemicals will be high value, potentially hazardous and also required for other companies to use in their manufacturing so timely work, engaging with the legislative and business needs is essential. This role is office based and will provide cover in the Warehouse on occasion, you will be consistently working to time deadlines of one kind or another and we are seeking an organised individual who communicates well.
Logistic experience is naturally key for this, as well as specific knowledge around transport of dangerous goods / chemicals. Specifically we are seeking knowledge of IATA, ADR or IMDG and the wider rules and regulations affecting logistics of this kind. You will be able to ensure effective supply and distribution of goods and be responsible for shipment. You will have knowledge of shipping regulations and shipping qualification You will be experienced in liaising with third part companies i.e. freight companies nad dealing with import and export administration.
Our client is a mid sizes business so a Forklift Truck Licence would be useful and we will look at a range of backgrounds, for example someone experienced in Warehousing or another field of Chemical activity/transportation. Essential to this role will be organisation, communication, and proactive problem solving.
