PhD-qualified Organic Chemist with over two decades of experience spanning industrial custom synthesis, process development, and advanced academic research.
Their technical expertise is centered on the multi-step synthesis and purification of complex organic molecules, including reactive fragments, chemical building blocks, and aromatic compounds. Managing projects from milligram-scale library synthesis to multi-kilogram production batches, using tools like hydrogenators, cryocoolers, and vacuum/nitrogen lines for air- and water-sensitive chemistry.
With a strong background in materials science and medicinal chemistry, they've successfully delivered projects, including super hydrophobic surfaces using metal micro-particles, and conducting polymers, also Fischer’s base derivatives, ruthenium (II) poly(pyridine) complexes and others .
They've also gained extensive experience in the pharmaceutical sector, this has meant their working on synthetic pathways for API intermediates and reference compounds, all within GLP and GMP frameworks.
Characerisation, naturally has involved a lot of NMR, GC, LC-MS, and GPC alongside a deep theoretical chemistry knowledge for interpretation.
