This candidate is a research scientist with a PhD in Natural Product Research, that focussed on Synthetic Biology giving a strong grounding in molecular biology and analytical chemistry.

This focussed on the biology/chemistry bridge of genomic discovery and metabolomic characterisation, with a specific focus on identifying biosynthetic gene clusters in cyanobacteria and actinomycetes to produce target molecules.

Its given them a high level of proficiency in microbiological techniques (BSL-2), heterologous expression of molecules and proteins, and advanced genetic engineering workflows including PCR, cloning, and MinION sequencing.

There's wider practical application of these pathways we can see in biotransformations, chemical synthesis, and the purification of small molecules and proteins, they have a strong organic chemistry and NMR spectroscopy skillset.

Concurrently, they have experience in mass spectrometry instrument and method development.

This comes from their recent industrial academic partnership (KTP), working at a leading Mass Spec instrumentation manufacturer. Here they have contributed to the validation of a single-cell mass spectrometry pipeline, focusing on instrument testing, troubleshooting, and the generation of preliminary data for product launches.

It means they are highly proficient with Waters and Thermo platforms, method development and the use of specialised software suites such as MassLynx, Waters Connect, and Progenesis. To enquire please email admin@licasci.com quoting ref 11903
