16 Years experience in industry / academia

Design and synthesis of medicinal compounds

Characterisation via HPLC, LCMS, GCMS, NMR, IR, UV

Happy to relocate UK wide, currently based in the North East / Newcastle area

I have good experience and understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, in-process analysis, routine laboratory (including a range of Bioanalytical)techniques, formulation strategies, drug development, pharmacokinetics, and instrumentation.
I have worked on a range of exciting projects involving the design and development of organic/inorganic compounds, lipids(fatty acids/esters), peptides(coiled-coils), chemo-sensors, reactive (metal) chelators for biomedical applications (including MRI), novel ADC linker-toxins to deliver the next-generation cancer therapeutics, and method development in analytical techniques. I have good project management skills, demonstrating leadership of research teams andcoaching and mentoring researchers at varying levels.
As a good multi-tasker, I am constantly accustomed to prioritising mywork to achieve deadlines.A strong problem-solver, I have excellent interpersonal skills, confident in communication and presentation. Exceptionally self-motivated and focused, happy contributing toateam and taking sole responsibility.
While my experience has been primarily academic, I have significant industrial exposure through academic-industrial collaborations, active participation as R & D Advisor -Formulation process, ‘Senior Lab Analyst’ and ‘Antibody Drug Conjugate-Chemistry Scientist’ at UK-based Pharmaceutical, Oil extraction, and cancer therapeutics companies.
I am actively looking for a position in an industry within synthetic organic chemistry.
