Masters student who is graduating in the upcoming months. She is working on a final year project in synthesis chemistry which is related to a reaction step in the production of a fluorescent molecule. She has been researching the stoichiometric ratio’s and bearing on the yield. This has involved a multi step process, looking at comparisons between ratios to come up with an optimal set of conditions. She is keen to relocate to Scotland and flexible on location, and would be available to start a role around June 2022.
This is potentially applicable to fluorescent dyes and this reaction route could improve yield if better understood. She has gone through a series of steps using schlenck lines, condensations and oxidations. She has carried out characerisation using TLC, NMR [Hydrogen, Carbon and Boron], MS, FT-IR, and UV-Vis.
Interviews very well and is keen on synthesis as her field at bench or plant scale.
