As an Analytical Chemist, you will play a key role in both routine quality control and advanced method development, directly contributing to the design of experiments, troubleshooting, and complex problem solving. This role will work across QC and Development environments, offering a varied day-to-day where you will support the analysis of small and large molecules.
What you’ll do:
This role will focus on the analysis of chemistry from a variety of sources in support of clients in a CRO environment. The work will be taking molecules through the analytical journey from first principles/scratch through to the finished method. There will also be methods requiring more minor changes.
The chemistry is predominantly small molecule however large molecule experience is advantageous as the analysis will incorporate proteins and other larger molecules in the future.
- LC-MS/MS (Triple Quad) and GC-MS are primary analytical techniques this role will utilise.
- Designing, and improving analytical methods
- Designing experiments (DOE), and taking a lead on instrument troubleshooting and technical problem solving
- Large molecule analysis, applying specialist knowledge to protein analysis and other large molecule characterisation
- Cross department support, acting as a subject matter expert for colleagues in the UK and Europe
Your background:
We are seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist who is able to bring a strong Mass Spectrometry background and chemistry skill set to the role. With problem solving experience for diagnosing and solving equipment issues and optimising workflows at the bench.
- A variety of backgrounds are welcomed, such as DMPK, Toxicology, CRO or the Pharmaceutical Industry (or others).
- Strong administrative and planning skills as well as a record of delivering projects on schedule.
- BSc or higher in Chemistry or a related subject (or equivalent qualification).
