We are hiring for a Technician in the pharmaceutical industry who will be responsible for supporting a mix of analytical chemistry and development activities. This role is permanent and full time and will involve bench and office based duties.
What you'll do
Bench based duties will see you perform routine sampling, requisition, analysis, storage and documentation of pharmaceutical samples – raw materials, intermediates, drug products, packaging etc. according to SOP's. Perform analytical tests following required training, relating to QC and Stability testing, generate experimental data according to written SOP, protocol, methods, or work instruction, and accurately record, calculate and report results to ensure compliance and data integrity, collaborate in cross-functional teams and maintain, clean, calibrate, and qualify laboratory equipment according to SOP's. You will also be responsible for accurately preparing reagents and media, weighing samples and preparing volumetric solutions. Temperature monitoring and mapping, housekeeping, cleaning of glassware and waste disposal
Office based duties will include stock Control including the purchasing of materials and consumables, maintain the integrity and accuracy of databases used in development and performing other duties as required by the business for which training and/or an explanation has been provided. Observe and comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and adhere to policies and procedures as per the Quality Management System (QMS) and the employee handbook, and work with a Right First Time mentality.
You will at all times observe and comply with company Health and Safety Policies as first consideration when taking on any task, and conduct all work in, and maintain, the laboratory in a clean, safe and compliant condition, alongside production of Risk and COSHH assessments.
You will have a scientific background from a level of education at or above A-Level / BTEC though our client highly values training and development and ambitious individuals are encouraged to apply. A scientific understanding will be key to this role and we can envisage graduate level individuals joining in this role and being developed into expanded roles in future.
