Job Description

We’re recruiting for an LC-MS Senior Scientist in Hertfordshire.

What you’ll do:

You will be responsible for working on contract analytical chemistry projects in quantification of drugs, markers and metabolites working with a variety of clients registering projects. The role will involve method development as the core field you will be covering for them with some routine analysis.

In the main you will be using Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) and methods you work on will be developed to the required level of sensitivity, this will be across multiple projects with varying complexity in separation to allow the chemical characteristics to be understood and reported back to clients. Effectively you’ll be working ‘vial to file’ on these studies and feeding back findings. You will have a small team of analysts around you working on routine testing who you will be responsible for assisting in solving chemistry queries with as a senior member of the team in the lab.

You will additionally be working in an outward facing role answering queries from clients and keeping them posted on progress. Our client is a contract testing organisation so have a continuous contact with their clients/sponsors which you will partake in with technical input.

Your background:

This role is suitable for an experienced analytical chemist a strong body of experience in LCMS who has worked in a senior/responsible role in another organisation. You will be a graduate or higher in chemistry. We are seeking a good communicator, team player and someone with ambition to help our client achieve growth plans for their business.
