Permanent role

We are working with a fine chemicals company in Manchester who are part of a global company. They are engaged in synthesis activities for their own product portfolio as well as operating as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO).

They are seeking a Development Chemist which is a synthesis chemistry based role, supporting projects in their field of work.

What you’ll do:

The Development Chemist will be working on synthetic chemistry activities which will follow synthesis routes to produce fine chemicals this will be ranging from gram to kilo scale. This will for the most part be following Standard Operating Practices (SOP’s) and your direct colleagues will be Project Chemists and Process Research and Development Chemists. You will liaise also with the Quality Control (QC) department and plan analysis for projects for characterisation.

Your background:

We are seeking someone who holds at least BSc/MChem level qualification and at this point we would be seeking experience of working in industry. The role and salary on offer for the Development Chemist is one that will also tempt in PhD level candidates, and we encourage applications from this group as well especially given the technical nature of project work on offer. For PhD level candidates we wouldn’t require experience however it would naturally be welcomed.
